In a curious quirk of scheduling, the big Night 2 party for CinemaCon 2018 had absolutely no relation to the studio presentation that directly preceded it, much less a specific title featured in the presentation. (I guess STXfilms thought a Happytime Murders-themed party would be problematic, if not more than a wee bit offensive, for some attendees' sensibilities.) So the evening at the Octavius Ballroom at Caesars Palace instead served as a prelude to tomorrow evening's Paramount presentation, centered around one of the more unheralded titles on its release slate, summer or otherwise, Action Point. Marking Johnny Knoxville's return to the big screen in one of his signature silly, stunt-heavy comedies, the film's amusement park setting made for an easily adaptable party theme.
As would be expected with such a theme, there were a number of carnival games for attendees to play, some with winnable prizes.
There were also themed photo op spots.
The bars and food stations were also decorated according to the theme.
The one spot immune to the theme was the stage and DJ station.
But at one point in the evening the stage was the most strongly themed, when star Johnny Knoxville made a not-so-surprise appearance to greet the crowd.
