WASHINGTON D.C. (February 6, 2014) – Chadwick Boseman will receive the “CinemaCon Male Star of Tomorrow Award” at this year’s CinemaCon, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), will be held March 24 – 27, 2014 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Boseman will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, March 27, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.

"From the moment Chadwick Boseman appeared onscreen as Jackie Robinson in 42 there was no doubt that he would be an actor to be reckoned with in Hollywood,” noted Neuhauser. “With upcoming roles in Draft Day and Get on Up Boseman is sure to continue to impress and entertain audiences around the world and we could not be more honored to present him with the ‘CinemaCon Male Star of Tomorrow Award.’”

Later this summer, audiences will see Boseman star as James Brown in Get on Up, which will be released by Universal Pictures on August 1, 2014. Based on the incredible life story of the Godfather of Soul, the film will give a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. Directed by The Help’s Tate Taylor, Boseman is joined in the drama by Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Nelsan Ellis, Lennie James, Tika Sumpter, Jill Scott, Craig Robinson and Dan Aykroyd. Academy Award® winner Brian Grazer, Mick Jagger, Victoria Pearman and Erica Huggins join Taylor as producers on the film.

A graduate of Howard University, Boseman began his career in the theater world after attending the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, U.K. With a successful career both directing and acting on the stage, Boseman made his feature film debut in The Express, portraying football great Floyd Little. His additional film credits include 42 , opposite Harrison Ford, and the independent psychological post-war drama The Kill Hole. Boseman may next be seen in the Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment film Draft Day, starring opposite Kevin Costner, and will soon begin production on Summit’s period epic Gods of Egypt, from director Alex Proyas. The action-adventure, in which Boseman portrays Thoth, the god of wisdom, is set for release in February 2016.

(March 11, 2013) – Legendary actor Harrison Ford will receive the “CinemaCon Lifetime Achievement Award” at this year’s CinemaCon, it was announced today by the convention’s Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser. CinemaCon, the largest and most important convention for the motion picture theatre industry, will be held from April 15-18, 2013 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas at which time more than 5,000 industry members will be gathering. Ford will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, April 18, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.

“With a career spanning five decades, Harrison Ford has brought some of the most memorable characters of our time alive on the big screen,” noted Neuhauser. “From Han Solo to Indiana Jones, he has showcased his innate ability to embrace and mold these remarkable roles into characters that will forever be remembered by movie lovers around the world for decades to come. Ford can be seen later this year in Ender’s Game, which is set to be released by Summit Entertainment, a LIONSGATE company, on November 1, 2013. The epic adventure film based on the best-selling, award-winning novel stars Ford as Colonel Hyrum Graff who, along with the International Military, is training the best young minds for an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race. Ender’s Game also stars Ben Kingsley, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld and Viola Davis with Abigail Breslin. In April, Ford will be seen in Legendary Entertainment’s 42 as Branch Rickey, the Major League Baseball executive who helped shatter baseball's color barrier by making Jackie Robinson the first African-American player in the MLB. Harrison Ford’s Hollywood career was launched following his portrayal of hot rod demon Bob Falfa in George Lucas’ 1973 Oscar®-nominated hit, American Graffiti. Four years later, he reunited with Lucas when he landed the now-legendary role of Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode IV--A New Hope.
