CinemaCon 2023, Day 4: Big Screen Achievement Awards + Closing Night Party

CinemaCon 2023 came to its traditional close with the Big Screen Achievement Awards and Closing Night Party, honoring notable acting and filmmaking talent, most of whom involved in upcoming releases featured throughout the week at the various studio presentations. In a signifying of still in-progress pandemic recovery, the lineup for the final night was much smaller than in pre-2020 years, plus two awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the inaugural Legend of Cinema Award, were respectively given at earlier convention events to Denzel Washington and Martin Scorsese. This year's complete list of honorees for the awards night:

• CinemaCon Star of the Year: Zendaya
• Rising Stars of the Year: Anthony Ramos & Dominique Fishback
• Comedy Ensemble of the Year: Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, Sabrina Wu in Joy Ride
• Cinema Vérité Award: Melissa McCarthy
• NATO Spirit of the Industry Award: Christopher Nolan & Emma Thomas
• Award of Excellence in Animation: Chris Meledandri

For the second consecutive year, the usual pre-awards show press conferences did not take place this year.

Following that final event at the Colosseum, it was up to the Octavius Ballroom one final time for the last event of the week, the Big Screen Achievement Awards afterparty, sponsored by the convention's presenting sponsor, Coca-Cola.

CinemaCon 2023, Day 2: Trade Show

Per years-long tradition, the lunch event for Day 2 of CinemaCon was the grand opening of the trade show floor and demonstration suites. While the Julius and Augustus Ballrooms at Caesars Palace Las Vegas were a bit more full than in 2022, there were some noticeable empty booth slots, so recovery in this sector of exhibition is still very much ongoing.

Similarly, for the most part, it was business as usual as the exhibition hall aisles were filled convention attendees -- at least in the food and drink-dominated Julius Ballroom, which is an escalator ride down.
