Movie Music Monday: Barry Jenkins, Nicholas Britell, Joi McMillon, James Laxton could talk Beale Street

Film Flam Flummox

It may be a new calendar year, but campaigning for Academy Awards® hits a fever pitch the first two weeks of the new year, as nomination voting hits its home stretch. Despite winning numerous honors and accolades already, Annapurna Pictures is taking nothing for granted for its celebrated adaptation of If Beale Street Could Talk, as screenwriter/director Barry Jenkins was joined by a few of the creative collaborators responsible for the film's distinctive audiovisual spell, score composer Nicholas Britell, film co-editor Joi McMillon, and cinematographer James Laxton, for a discussion following a special screening event at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills this past Friday, January 4.

If Beale Street Could Talk is now playing in cinemas nationwide, from Annapurna Pictures.
