F3Stage: Steve Martin & Edie Brickell follow their Bright Star to Los Angeles

Film Flam Flummox


After a short-lived but beloved Broadway run the first half of 2016--so beloved as to lead to a reunion concert last December--Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's country- and bluegrass-tinged Tony Award-nominated musical drama Bright Star launched its First National Tour production last night, Friday, October 20, at the Ahmanson Theatre. Joining the illustrious pair of co-creators/co-composers/co-lyricists and director Walter Bobbie for the big Tinseltown unveiling were a wide array of luminaries from stage, film, and television, as seen below.

Bright Star starring Carmen Cusack in her Tony-nominated performance is now playing at the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown Los Angeles through Sunday, November 19; the touring company then moves on to other parts of the country for the next few months.
